"
I just had an interesting "new generation" knitting/crocheting experience.. let me start by saying that I have been knitting and crocheting all of my life, I learned from my Italian grandmother when I was but 5 or 6 years old! So I am old generation .. that has become new generation ! I moved from the United states to Italy 22 years ago with my husband and children and last year my daughter moved back to the states..
I had promised to make her a maxi cardigan and so... I started the project (crochet).. it was important to exchange ideas with her as the project progressed and so... enter Facebook... where I posted pictures of the project at various stages to get input from my daughter.. but I ended up getting input from many of my FB friends! Then there was the problem of getting the coat from Italy to my daughter in Pennsylvania, USA without worrying about high shipping costs, it getting lost in the mail, etc... enter my wonderful cousin on facebook.. who informed me that she was coming to Italy for a vacation and would be happy to take the "gift" back with her and get it to my daughter! And so.. when the coat of many colours was finished, I posted the picture of the coat of many colours on Facebook... and told my daughter that it was on its way!
Naturally, as soon as my cousin reached her home with the coat she posted a message on facebook to assure me that it had arrived safely and in the final chapter of this "new generation knitting" story... she used facebook to invite my daughter to her home for dinner and to pick up the coat... now all that is missing is a picture of my daughter wearing the coat!"
